Ý dĩ: Nhỏ nhưng công dụng lớn

Hiện nay, trên thế giới đã có nhiều nghiên cứu về ý dĩ. Các công trình nghiên cứu cho thấy, quả ý dĩ chứa: Tinh bột (50 – 79%), protein (16 – 19%), dầu béo (2 – 7%), lipid, glycolipid (5,67%), phospholipid (1,83%), sterol và nhiều acid amin khác.

Ý dĩ là nhân quả cây ý dĩ, cây còn có tên gọi khác là bo bo, hạt cườm, người Thái gọi là co đươi, người Tày gọi là mạy păt. Là cây thảo, thân mọc thẳng đứng, có thể cao tới 2m. Ở gốc thân có nhiều rễ phụ. Lá mọc so le, mặt lá ráp, gân lá song song, không có cuống.

Hoa đơn tính cùng gốc, trông tựa một nhánh của bông lúa. Quả hình trứng hơi nhọn đầu (thường gọi nhầm là nhân) được bao bởi một lá bắc cứng (thường gọi nhầm là vỏ). Mùa ra hoa tháng 7 – 8, quả tháng 9 – 10. Bộ phận thường dùng là hạt. Rễ, lá cũng được dùng nhưng ít hơn.

Cây mọc hoang và cũng thường được trồng ở bờ nước, bãi, ruộng. Người ta thu hoạch cây khi quả chín già, cắt cả cây về phơi, đập lấy quả, sấy, rồi xay, thu lấy nhân trắng, phơi hay sấy khô. Cắt rễ, đem rửa sạch rồi phơi khô.

Theo Y học cổ truyền hạt ý dĩ có vị ngọt, nhạt, tính mát; có tác dụng bổ tỳ, kiện vị, lợi niệu, thanh nhiệt bài nung, bổ phế, thư cân, giải kinh, giải độc…

Rễ có vị đắng, ngọt, tính hàn; có tác dụng thanh nhiệt, lợi thấp, kiện tỳ, sát trùng. Lá có tác dụng noãn vị và ích khí huyết. Ý dĩ dùng làm thuốc bổ và bồi dưỡng cơ thể tốt, dùng bổ sức cho người già và trẻ em, dùng lợi sữa cho phụ nữ sinh đẻ…. Ngoài ra, ý dĩ có nhiều lipid, protid, tinh bột và các acid amin…, nên người ta dùng hạt đã giã trắng để thổi cơm, cũng thơm, dẻo và ngon như cơm nếp. Cũng có thể dùng để nấu chè.

Một số bài thuốc thường dùng:

Bài 1: Tăng tiết sữa, làm tốt sữa của phụ nữ sau sinh: Ý dĩ sống 50g, móng giò lợn 1 cái, hầm nhừ. Ăn ngày một lần. Một tuần ăn 3 lần.

Bài 2: Chữa tiểu buốt, rắt: ý dĩ sống 20 – 50g, đổ thêm nước nấu dưới dạng cháo loãng ăn.

Hoặc dùng lá hoặc rễ ý dĩ, mỗi ngày 20 – 40g, có thể thêm râu ngô, mã đề (bông, cả cây), mỗi thứ vị bằng nhau 20 – 40g, tất cả rửa sạch cho thêm 800ml nước đun nhỏ lửa, chia 3 lần uống trong ngày. Uống nhiều ngày tới khi hết các triệu chứng.

Bài 3: Trị chứng tỳ hư, tiêu hóa kém: Ý dĩ, bạch biển đậu, hoài sơn, mỗi vị 40g, sơn tra, sử quân tử (bỏ vỏ lụa), liên nhục, mỗi vị 30g, thần khúc 16g, đương quy 200g, gạo nếp 100g. Tất cả sao vàng, tán bột mịn, chia Ngày 2 lần, mỗi lần 12 – 16g, uống với nước ấm. Trẻ em tùy tuổi, giảm lượng.

Bài 4: Thanh nhiệt, giải độc (mặt nhiều trứng cá bọc, gây đau nhức):  Ý dĩ sống 20 – 50g, đổ thêm nước nấu dưới dạng cháo loãng ăn.

Hoặc phối hợp với bồ công anh, thương nhĩ tử, kim ngân hoa, mỗi vị 10 – 16g. Đổ 700ml nước đun nhỏ còn 250ml nước, chia 2 lần uống trong ngày. Uống nhiều ngày tới khi các triệu chứng thuyên giảm.

Lứu ý: Người có thể trạng hàn, phụ nữ có thai khi dùng ý dĩ phải rất cẩn thận.
