U xơ tuyến tiền liệt (hay còn gọi là phì đại tuyến tiền liệt) là căn bệnh khá phổ biến hiện nay. Tuy ít gặp ở những người dưới 50 tuổi nhưng những người trên 70 tuổi thì có nguy cơ mắc bệnh này rất cao.
Những biến chứng của u xơ tuyến tiền liệt
Khi mắc phì đại tuyến tiền liệt mà không được phát hiện kịp thời để có biện pháp ngăn chặn bệnh phát triển hay điều trị thì bệnh nhân sẽ phải đối mặt với các biến chứng:
– Bí tiểu cấp: Đây là biến chứng dễ gặp nhất. Người mắc phì đại tuyến tiền liệt khi gặp biến chứng này sẽ có hiện tượng đau đột ngột, bí tiểu không có khả năng đi tiểu. Để giải quyết tình trạng này người bệnh phải dùng cách thông tiểu.
– Nhiễm trùng đường tiết niệu: U xơ tuyến tiền liệt phát triển mạnh đến một mức độ nào đó nếu không được phẫu thuật loại bỏ sẽ gây ra nhiễu trùng đường tiểu. Đây là một biến chứng nguy hiểm, cần phải phẫu thuật mở rộng tuyến tiền liệt càng sớm càng tốt tránh các biến chứng khác.
– Sỏi bàng quang: Là những khoáng chất lắng đọng lâu dần hình thành những viên đá nhỏ trong bàng quang. Nếu không thể tự đào thải ra ngoài khi đi tiểu có thể gây nhiễm trùng, kích thích bàng quang, máu trong nước tiểu, tắc nghẽn dòng chảy hay gây ra bất lực hoàn toàn vì bàng quang trổng rỗng.
– Thận bị tổn thương: Khi tiểu bí gây áp lực lên bàng quang, trực tiếp gây ra áp suất cao có thể khiến thận bị tổn thương nghiêm trọng hay nhiễm trùng bàng quang tiếp cận thận. Khi tuyến tiền liệt khiến thận bị tắc nghẽn, một tình trạng gọi là hydronephrosis – sưng niệu quản trong một hoặc cả hai quả thận.
– Bàng quang bị tổn thương: Khi bàng quang phải chịu sức ép và rỗng không hoàn toàn trong một thời gian dài, các bức cơ thành của bàng quang trải dài và suy yếu và không có hợp thành đúng cách. Tình trạng này sẽ được cải thiện sau khi điều trị hoặc phẫu thuật phì đại tuyến tiền liệt.
Triệu chứng của bệnh phì đại tuyến tiền liệt rất dễ nhận biết nhưng do tâm lý chủ quan nên ít người chú ý đến. Khi bệnh chuyển sang giai đoạn nặng hơn, lúc này người bệnh mới bắt đầu quan tâm đến việc khám chữa. Bệnh này cũng giống như bệnh ung thư càng để lâu thì khối u càng lớn. Khi được phát hiện và điều trị kịp thời thì không những hạn chế được những biến chứng của bệnh mà hiệu quả điều trị cũng cao hơn nhiều.
